Lung cancer is now the biggest killer of Australian women
Lung cancer is now the biggest killer of Australian women. This is a huge warning to young women who are smoking more and starting to smoke earlier compared to young men.
According to health experts “lung cancer is now the biggest killer of Australian women, causing 670 more deaths than breast cancer last year…
…the number of women dying each year from lung cancer has soared by 36.3 per cent to 3716 deaths in 2016 over the past decade”.
It’s so important that we educate ourselves and others on the life threatening risks of smoking. If you are thinking about quitting smoking or know someone who needs support, book an appointment here to discuss your options with one of our GPs at Cape Byron Medical Centre or call (02) 6685 6326.
