Our objective is to proactively support the general health and wellbeing of our patients, through the delivery of preventative health care services, in partnership with community and allied health care professionals, surgical specialists and acute care medical facilities.
We seek to resource our practice with tertiary accredited, suitably experienced and empathetic practitioners, nurses, administrative staff, and technology, to help our patients realise their basic right to full physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Our practice is conveniently located in the heart of Byron Bay, with off-street parking and wheelchair access at the rear of the the premises.

D Dr Tonya Coren
Dr Tonya Coren
Tonya joined Cape Byron Medical Centre in August 2014. Her passion is for Women’s and Children’s health.
Tonya completed her medical degree at Notre Dame University, and has subsequently completed a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG) at the Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick. She is excited to be working with Dr Nicholson, Dr Peter Bowles and Dr Marc Heyning as one of the GP Obstetricians supporting the midwives of Byron Community Birthing Service, at Byron Central Hospital.
Tonya and her family moved to the hinterland of Byron Bay in 2011. She is a wife and mother to two children and loves to be outdoors, either exercising, gardening or enjoying the surf and beautiful coastal walks of Cape Byron. She feels privileged to call Byron Bay home and proud to be working in such a diverse and culturally enriched community.

James migrated to Australia from England with his family in 1989, and has worked as a General Practitioner in Byron Bay for 25 years. In addition to his general practice duties, James provides GP Obstetrics support to the Byron Community Birthing Service at Byron Central Hospital. James also maintains a keen interest in SCUBA diving medicals.
James enjoys an active lifestyle- tennis, swimming and bushwalking in his spare time. Spending time with his family which has grown to include his first grandchild, is also one of his favourite pastimes.

Kylie joined Cape Byron Medical in March 2016. She has extensive General Practice knowledge, having worked in various administration and management roles over the years.
In her down time Kylie loves to get out and about within our Shire, enjoying our beautiful coastline and the local Yoga, Music, Theatre and Restaurants that we are so lucky to have access to.

Gail is a valued receptionist at Cape Byron Medical Centre. University educated and widely travelled, Gail has been with us for over 10years and brings a wealth of experience to her role .
She has lived and worked overseas, but has chosen Byron Bay as her home .
Gail says "I love working at Cape Byron Medical Centre because of the wide range of people I meet and the chance to work as part of a dedicated team ".
