E Esther Perez
Infant Massage Educator
Infant Massage Educator
The benefits of infant massage are almost limitless, for both baby and parent. Massage helps establish a physical and emotional bond between parent and child, and creates a new form on non-verbal communication between parent and baby; encourages deeper, longer sleeping in infants; relaxes and helps calm irritable or unsettled babies; and can improve colic, constipation and other health issues.
The massage course is open to all parents and caregivers, and Esther believes there are special benefits for fathers who undertake the course, giving them the tools to confidently administer soothing and bonding massages.
Esther understands that parents are hesitant at first in performing infant massage - these are our precious babies and we are often fearful of doing 'the wrong thing'. She works with each parent to build knowledge and understanding, gradually increasing their competence and confidence.
Esther says it is an incredibly rewarding experience to see a once nervous parent become proficient in infant massage, and see the whole family benefit from the practice.
